Louise Walker

We met Louise at the poetry launch for South 68. Her poem, 'Final Score' really spoke to us. (And South Poetry Magazine is one of our favourite UK publications!) Over biscuits and tea, she pitched her latest collection to us.

How could we resist?

Especially, when we saw how many of these poems have been published, individually, by other great literary magazines or long-listed in competitions. We knew instinctively that seen together in chapbook form, they'd project a powerful poetic arc.

We got in touch with Louise today to say we hoped she would trust us with her work...

And she said, 'Yes!'

Here's what Louise had to say..."Exciting new indie poetry press Dithering Chaps publishes attractive, thought-provoking chapbooks, so I couldn’t be more delighted that they have accepted my collection. The poems trace my journey onwards from the death of my brother in my/his twenties and celebrate the joy found in unexpected moments, like my first flute lessons as an adult learner or buying fish and chips on the beach. Chatting to the chaps from Dithering Chaps at a magazine launch last autumn was immediately a meeting of minds and I am really looking forward to working with them to bring this project to fruition.”

And we’re looking forward to working with Louise over the coming months to bring her beautiful words to you.
